Choir Boy (www.the-choir-boy.com), a young Hip-Hop virtuoso from Newark, NJ has been touted by critics as “sicker than your average and definitely one to watch” (9/05 issue of Source magazine’s Unsigned Hype) for his astounding, socially conscious lyrics and remarkable, self-produced beats. In his hometown of Newark, NJ, Choir Boy has been credited with sparking a Cultural Renaissance; using the arts, primarily Hip-Hop music to unite the gang-ridden, dichotomized community and has received tremendous support from the likes of Newark's Municipal government, community activists, and residents alike.

On the 5th of May 2006, in a deal brokered by MIH GROUP INC., a full service management company based out of NYC, Choir Boy joined UrbanWorld Wireless’s elite roster of names in music, sports, comedy, film and more. UrbanWorld Wireless, the 1st wireless provider dedicated to serving the Urban Youth Market by integrating wireless technology and the Hip-Hop lifestyle, enlisted the multifaceted emcee/producer/singer/musician Choir Boy to provide original music and beats which will be available as ringtones at www.urbanworldwireless.com..

Consummating the deal, Choir Boy’s music will be featured on a multitude of mixtapes and available as ringtones starting with the Ice Cube hosted, Niggaz With Guns. The two original, sample free tracks produced by Choir Boy and chosen for the Niggaz With Guns mixtape will be the first two installments of Choir Boy ringtones for UrbanWorld Wireless. The first track Hush is an ode to stop snitching and legal hustles’ that will feature Choir Boy and fellow Newark, New Jersey native, the rapper Phenom. The second track, which has been selected as the Niggaz With Guns outro will feature a speech discussing the state of Black America by Mac Mcghee, Director of Operation Cease Fire and a motivational speaker based in Chicago, who delivers the speech over a Choir Boy produced beat.

Suffice to say, this recently acquired ringtone deal with the unsigned, independent artist Choir Boy is a testament to how the advent of technology has created a brave new world of recorded music based on digital distribution; leaving the marketing and promotion of such material in the hands of those who are most effective at getting the word out to consumers.
