To celebrate the return of the NBA All-Star games to Los Angeles, Urban Eyes and DF Enterprizes welcomes Hoops Meets Hollywood to the “entertainment capital of the world” Friday, Feb.13, 2004 and Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004 as all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood joins in the celebration at the lavish Art-Deco style Cicada located at 617 South Olive St. in downtown Los Angeles. Special guest attending the celebrations on Friday, Feb.13 include “The Pied Piper” of R&B, R. Kelly alongside Kiki Sheppard, Wendy Racquel Robinson with athlete greats Latrell Sprewell, Corey Maggette and Karl Malone to name a few. Hoops Meets Hollywood will feature a glitzy red carpet entrance showcasing the luxurious Maybach car. Sponsors for the evening include Dada Footwear, Mercedes- Benz, The Rae Mackenzie Group and Streetbuzz. Dada Footwear will launch the “Spree’s” shoe collection at the event.
“Adidas is excited to partner with Gabrielle Union, DF Enterprizes and Urban Eyes to benefit these wonderful charity organizations. We are excited to be included among Hollywood’s brightest stars, during the biggest event of the year,” noted Porshe Taylor, Adidas National Promotions Director. Dale Davis of the Portland Trailblazers and the Executive Producer of the film Playas Ball in conjunction with Songpro will also be the main “playas” at the star-studded Hoops Meets Hollywood event.
The second night Saturday Feb. 14 Sleepy Brown of the Outkast family will take center stage with hosts Gabrielle Union, Chico Benymon and All-star athletes Tracy McGrady, Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan. Sponsors for the second night include Adidas, Mercedes- Benz, the Rae Mackenzie Group and Chicago D&P.
